His latest solo effort "Trevy – African Roots" is a beautiful acoustic record filled with honesty, love and passion. Trevy felt an acoustic reggae record was long overdue as the reggae records he releases with his band Boom Shaka are mostly electric. “Most of the songs I write start out on an acoustic guitar and then are arranged and electrified with my band. To record and express my songs acousticly, close to their original vibration is something I have always wanted to do”. Yet another record from this prolific producer "Dominica Tenement Yard" a compilation record with a collection of beautiful and conscious reggae songs sung by some of Dominica’s most talanted roots reggae artists. Featured our Nelly Stharre, Dr Silk, and Prass. The music deals in universal themes from the Rastaman point of view on love, spirituality, africa, human rights, Justice and decrimilization of Jah Herb to name a few. " I wanted to capture the love and passion we here in the nature island of Dominica have for reggae music. As a youth I have a good memory of hearing incredible music sung on street corners with acoustic guitars . There is nuff drum and bass on the production of this album and the singers have time to express themselves and its a beautifull ting to hear". Producing and playing most of the instruments, Trevy appears, as lead vocal on the Dominica Tenemenent Yard album on the tracks ”Rasta Boss” and ”Dem Forgot”. |
