Living in Radical Radiance from Maria Vidal combines her powerful vocals, soul–satisfying melodies and an enduring passion for making music into an emotional, musical collage. Written and composed by Vidal, Radical Radiance was recorded in her solid pink Santa Monica music studio. Inside of this intimate, kaleidoscopic I Dream of Jeannie bottle, Vidal has bravely woven her lyrical voice into eight stunning songs. Love Hunts begins with a stirring, operatic melody—then opens up to a beautiful blending of warm and textural vocals. Firefly reflects Vidal’s voice as a beacon—resurfacing radiantly from deeply layered instrumental arrangements.
Vidal’s astonishing career includes vocal contributions for The Smithereens, Aerosmith, Stevie Nicks, Cher, Cat Stevens, Paul Stanley, Bette Midler, Meatloaf, Celine Dion, and Seal. She co-founded Desmond Child & Rouge, a band that recorded for Capitol Records and performed on Saturday Night Live. Vidal’s solo career was launched with the hit dance single, Body Rock, produced by EMI Records. A&M Records released her self-titled debut album in 1987. Maria has also produced a variety of vocal acts in the studio, including Carrie Underwood and the finalists on American Idol Season 4. |
