We Won a Native America Music Award

Hen House Studios is happy to announce that our CD entitled “Floyd Red Crow Westerman – A Tribute to Johnny Cash” won the prestigious “Native American Music Award”. Our only regret is that we didn’t have the time to attend the awards in Niagara Falls, New York. Here is what Kris Kristofferson wrote about the CD: “I Think Johnny Cash would be especially proud of this tribute album. Not just because of his high regard for Floyd Red Crow Westerman or his own life-long identification with Native Americans and commitment to their cause, but because it is such a respectful, loving portrayal of the man’s work. Floyd’s deep, powerful voice resonates with the truth. I had no idea he could sound so much like John.”

I just watched the youtube film ” Floyd Red Crow Westerman - “Missionary” It brought tears to my eyes & I enjoyed. I wanted to both say “thank you” and remind all to keep checking in with and to keep supporting the Longest Walk. http://www.longestwalk.com/
It was in the support of the Intertribal Friendship House of Oakland, protection of Sacred Sites and preparations for the LW ll that I was honored to meet this extraordinary human being.
